Process and Processing Flow

 

1. Initial Material and Ingot Pretreatment

Customized Truck Car Wheel Rims Alloy uses high-quality aluminum-magnesium alloy or aluminum-silicon alloy ingots, which are precision-melted, degassed, and chemically controlled to ensure the alloy is free of pores and contains minimal inclusions, fundamentally improving material density and strength uniformity.

 

2. Wheel Forming

Depending on your needs, we can choose from gravity casting, low-pressure casting, or tape casting/rolling and extrusion + stretching processes:

 

  • a. Casting: Molten alloy is poured into a precision mold, cooled, and solidified to produce the initial wheel blank.
  • b. Tape Casting/Rolling + Stretching: Following this initial forming process, the heated wheel barrel is subjected to high-pressure plastic deformation to stretch and refine the grain size. This step increases material strength and reduces wall thickness, resulting in a lighter and stronger wheel.

 

3. CNC Precision Machining

Once the blank is landed, it enters the CNC machining center for machining of the inner and outer rim walls, machining bolt holes (hole positioning and slotting), center hole positioning, chamfering, and deburring. This ensures precise dimensional tolerances, high coaxiality of each hole, and excellent balance.

 

4. Surface Treatment and Painting

  • Pretreatment: This includes pickling, alkaline cleaning, degreasing, and phosphating to thoroughly remove surface oxides, oil stains, and impurities, enhancing the adhesion of subsequent coatings.
  • Primer/Sealer: After pretreatment, a primer or sealer is sprayed to seal fine pores and enhance corrosion resistance.
  • Main Surface Painting or Powder Coating: Depending on the customer's preference, high-solids epoxy primer with fluorocarbon topcoat, electrostatic powder coating, or thermal spraying can be used. Custom colors are available, including metallic silver, matte black, gunmetal gray, and two-tone gradients.
  • Precision Cutting/Mirror Brushing: For the "cut" or bright areas, we use high-speed CNC tools for precision cutting or chrome plating, creating a brushed or mirrored metal contrast effect.
  • Clear Varnish/UV Coating: The final transparent protective layer protects against oxidation, corrosion, and UV rays. High-quality UV coating enhances the wheel's weather resistance in harsh environments.
  • Final Inspection and Curing: After all coatings are applied, the wheel is cured in a high-temperature oven. Visual inspection, thickness testing, adhesion testing, and 3D measurement are performed to ensure that each wheel meets the factory standards before leaving the factory.

 

5. Balancing and Calibration

Each wheel undergoes static and dynamic balancing before leaving the factory, and balancing weights are installed to ensure that it does not cause vibration or instability after installation on the vehicle.
