Processing and Surface Treatment

 

1. Processing: Mold Locating Pins are manufactured starting with a blank, undergoing rough turning, CNC precision turning, grinding/polishing, lathe chamfering and slot machining, heat treatment, and fine grinding/polishing to final dimensions. Complex designs can be further processed with milling, thread rolling, or deep hole machining.

2. Heat Treatment: Mold Locating Pins typically undergo quenching and tempering to improve overall strength and toughness. For high wear resistance requirements, nitriding (nitriding) is used to increase surface hardness without affecting core toughness.

3. Surface Treatment: Hard chrome, electroplated nickel, blackening (black oxide), phosphating, or spraying are available to enhance corrosion resistance and appearance. For stainless steel, pickling and passivation are available.

4. Inspection: All CNC Stainless Steel Mold Locating Pins undergo CMM, hardness test, and surface roughness testing to ensure accuracy.
